dogs clothes

I have a little tiny yorkie pup and she has a lot of clotes that she’ll grow into (t-shirts and one sundress) i have a really small one and when its cold out i put it on and it warms her up (she likes it). Everyone that sees her in it scowls and gets angry at me. Is it that wrong?

To be honest, i see nothing wrong with that.

only if your dog doesn’t like it!
Some people (the ones complaining) need to get a life!

              • Numbskull says:

Well I put a shirt on my rottweiler and she isn’t looking to happy right now……so, whatta you think?

              • tamboz says:

who cares what they think? if she likes it and it makes you happy, why not? i think dogs wearing clothes is cute

              • Paint♥Pastel♥Princess says:

Well she does not like it obviously!! Although it maybe cute it is unnecessarily stupid to buy clothes for your dog..

              • hottblonde16 says:

no, it’s cute on some dogs. i have a problem when someone puts clothes on their dog every day and they have like 20 outfits for a dog. putting something on a dog to warm them up is something different.

              • Melissa L says:

It’s not wrong, it’s just stupid.

The fact that people are breeding animals that couldn’t survive outside in the wild seems ridiculous.

              • rack says:

dogs are not meant to wear cloothes. thats like you wearing a fur coat with a bathing suit over it?

              • Magdalenne S says:

If the dog likes it then, no it’s not wrong at all! I think dogs look adorable in clothing. So, unless they are having a fit to get out of it, don’t mind what other people say!

              • Kim says:

If the dog doesn’t seem to be bothered.. then no, it is not wrong. I used to put shirts on my beagle and she looked so adorable! As long as the dog isn’t suffering then it’s fine with me.

              • Moeez 360* says:

you can put clothes on dogs if you want to
but i don’t think its a good idea.

              • Mark Wahlberg says:

its good for the winter but extra clothing this time of year is unnecessary and might make your dog warmer. they DO have fur for that type of stuff

              • ♥♥The Queen Has Spoken♥♥ says:

Why not just stick to t’s…..

If she is running cold it’s fine. Ignore other people’s frowns. You know your dog they don’t.

              • RNuts says:

I think it’s fine as long as the dog does not mind, it fits and does not make the dog hot.

              • DogLover says:

oh I think it’s adorable… who cares what anyone else thinks anyway? Are you sure they’re getting angry, or are just jealous your dog is so cute?

              • Chicken Fried Steak says:

its a dog, not a child.

              • DogAddict says:

Dogs are not dolls. They are not children with fur.
If you need to use a sweater to keep the dog warm during a walk.. that is acceptable, but putting a dress on the dog is for your enjoyment not the dog’s.

              • chaehchung says:

Dogs looks silly in clothes. They have fur for a reason, especially yorkies, which are shaggy dogs to begin with.

              • polostripe84 says:

Well….they are not really supposed to wear clothes.

              • J98 says:

No, if she likes it, who cares! I think they can look a little silly, but if they don’t mind it, who cares. I have a toy poodle 7.5 lbs, and I have a coat for her too. If I groom her in the winter and it’s too cold outside, you need to keep them warn :) Some really like it. Mine is a bit of a tomboy so tries to take it off. I say go with what they like :)

Is a dog a barbie doll or a living breathing creature?

              • hannah S says:

heck yes they r not people would you like to have to try and run around in a tight pink thing and play uh u discust me

              • Loran says:

I don’t think it is wrong. If I saw you and your pup, I would be like “ohhhhh, how cute!”
Unless you’re dressing her goth. You’re not dressing her goth are you!?!?

              • kdogg005 says:

Personally I think animals in clothes look ridiculous but if your puppy doesn’t mind then I see no problem with it.

              • Chantel M says:

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it what so ever. My bf tells me the same thing. Now whats wierd was this winter I had my dog outside and I got stopped an yelled from a stranger how I should have a coat on my dog!!! I couldn’t afford one! People are ignorant and if u like it and ur dog likes it then I don’t c the problem. Nevermmind people and do what pleases u 2 :)

              • Lina says:

I don’t think so, since in the winter its really cold so we put a sweater on my dog. But it also depends on how the dog feels on clothes.

              • 100% Organic Snark™ says:

If you’re dressing your dog up like a doll and for the express purpose of making some kind of fashion statement, that’s ridiculous and very very sad (for you, I mean). If you’re putting a doggy jacket on in the winter time to keep it warm, that’s different.
If you want something to dress up, GET A BARBIE DOLL.

Dogs don’t need to wear clothes.

              • Zoe B says:

if it keeps her warm what there to be mad about your doing what best for you dog who cares what they think !

                :)

              • payas j says:

yes it is. dogs have their own comforting style. they can never be comfortable in cloths. let them be natural.

              • leah j says:

well, you shouldn’t put clothes on a dog if it is sunny outside. if it’s cold it is fine or raining. it will protect your dog from getting ill. if the dog likes it then yes, its fine.

              • kc+cc says:

it is not wrong. I dont like to put dogs in clothes because i think that the clothes look dumb…. It is your choice and there is nothing wrong with putting clothes on dogs…

              • julieisbest says:

Dogs have been bred to suit their human companions in highly specialized ways. Some dogs now REQUIRE clothing in some temperatures (for instance, Chinese Cresteds, which are bald. They also need sunscreen to prevent skin cancer). I don’t see anything wrong with it as long as your dog is not uncomfortable. If the clothing doesn’t fit well or causes your dog to overheat then you have a problem.

              • Talltail says:

Not exactly. I think it’s weird to put clothes on dogs daily. It can be seen as ‘humanizing’. But when it’s cold outside, I put clothes on my smaller dog to keep her warm. As long as the dog isn’t bothered by it, and you don’t humanize, it warms the dog up and looks cute.

              • queen_delishus says:

I dont think it’s wrong at all, I think it’s adorable! Now if the dog hates wearing the clothes and you’re forcing him to wear them then maybe that would be wrong. I’ve only known of one dog we had a long time ago who didnt like it. Keep doing what your doing, forget about the haters!

              • Moby says:

You love your dog and you are doing what’s necessary to make her comfortable. She’s happy, you’re happy — those who don’t like it can look elsewhere.

              • Starlight says:

Dogs have clothes, its called hair. You are dressing the dog for your benefit not hers. I personally think the money spent on dog clothes would be better spent donating it to a animal rescue agency. When I groom I use bandanas and ribbons but again, its for the people

              • Air Glider says:

Well, it really depends. If your dog doesn’t like it don’t but you know if it doesn’t really care and you like it why not. If it is for their safety yes you should put it on them whether they like it or not. I know because I knew someone who had a dog and it had some sort of problem with it’s feet so the owner put on boots in the winter and it fixed the problem. All in the point of view.

              • Carnage says:

Ummmm….well if that’s what you want to do with your dog then that’s fine b/c it’s your dog. I’m not buying that a shirt, sundress, etc. warms her up….you’re just satisfying your maternal instinct and using that as an excuse….dogs don’t need clothes to survive…I’m fairly certain you’re not residing in the artic and if you are then I would rethink having a yorkie. You can dress your dog though…I mean after all some ppl wear collars…it’s only fair.

              • 08/31/08 Bride to be says:

Dogs are not babies. They are not toys that you dress up.
Yes I let my dog sleep on my bed but I will NOT EVER dress my dog in clothes.
The only thing you will see me do is put a Bandanna on my dog. Thats it.

A dog is a dog, Not a human, not a person. Yes my dog is part of my family and I treat him well and love him very very much. But he deserves to live a dogs life. Putting clothes on dogs is crazy and in humane to the pet.

Paris Hilton and her dog are good examples of what NOT to do to a pet.

              • rosemary151 says:

If you know she likes it, there’s no problem, especially since you have an actual purpose for it. People just assume that anyone who dresses up their dog thinks of it as a fuzzy Barbie doll and that the dog never likes it, and I can understand why it would make them think of air-headed celebrities, but it’s really not always true.

              • cool says:

nothing is wrong maybe people look at you stupid but who cares … do what ever your dogs makes happy and comfortable
.. every time they luff on you put this on your mind”they don’t know what passion is”

              • Wounded Duck says:

Yes it is, and undignified as well. Get a doll, a dog is not a toy for you to play with.

              • kirsty_05mcclak says:

I do not think any dogs like wear clothes, lots of people force their dogs wear something, because they might think its cute can keep them warm. There is no evidence to say that dogs really do dislike clothing, it might just be personal, some dogs might not mind and some may dislike the idea, so it all depends on how you think your dog responds!
                good luck!

              • Paigerooski says:

Wrong?? No. Some people do it, some don’t. If your dog acts like she doesn’t like it, then I wouldn’t do it.

I don’t dress my dogs, but I do know my friends dog that really does like to wear his sweaters. I did not believe her at first, but he gets excited about putting them on.

                Different strokes for different folks.

No- I put T-shirts on my mastiff, He looks so cute , I don’t see anything wrong with it

              • Nekkid Dog © says:

If your dog enjoys clothes.. and they are not causing any discomfort or restriction of movement.. then there is nothing wrong with dressing your dog.

              • ..i! Nick !i.. says:

only if the dog doesnt like it. Its great in the winter when its really cold (dont know how cold it gets where you live but it gets pretty chilly here) to puit on a jacke to make them warm. I strongly believe that if they dont like it, that you shouldnt put it on them. You will always get people that think will give angry looks though.
