is there any other way isnt it cruel to have the puppy locked up or will it get used to it
also when do you stop using the crate altogether

so is the point of using the crate so the puppy will hold it untill you take him out and then in the end will get the point not to go inside
OH i will crate train my puppy now i thought it meant leave the dog in there all day and only take it out for potty but 1more question

Sometimes my fiancee and I go out of state to visit my family back home and we have had his mother watch out for our new dog enough to let him out to go to the bathroom.

we have a 5 month old chihuahua male. He is very hard to potty train. He just goes where ever he wants to, be it on a bed, on clothes, in his dog bed, in the other dogs bed. everywhere but on the newspaper that I want him to pee and poop. One day he might do it all right and then for weeks do it wrong. any ideas on how to do this? It is getting frustrating.

Im trying to Crate / potty train my dog - book says that when dog is let out of crate, to bring the dog straight outside to unirate. However, after hes been outside and I let him back in, do I put him back in the crate until next potty break? Or can i let him out to wander around - or is it just in and out of the crate till hes trained? As sometimes , if he doesnt urninate when he’s outside, hell still urinate inside! Really getting confused what to do?

Whats an easy way to potty train a dog?
Hi. My husband and I just recently purchased a dog (4 month old Shih Tzu ) and I was wondering if anyone has any potty training tips? He goes in the house all the time. When i see him sniff around I take him outside and once in a great while he’ll go outside, but he usually goes all the time indoors. I say no, thats bad and open the door and say outside. I never trained a dog before so i am very clueless. Any help? Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

My husband I got a German Shepherd mix with chow at the age of 11 weeks so he is about 13 weeks old now. The previous owner sayed he was potty trained before we bought him home. This dog has peeed an poop everywhere in my apartment on my carpet an in my closet an my kids closet. We take him out several times a day an sometimes he goes sometimes he just sniff the grass or lay down. He knocks my garbage over every night an we are constantly trying to train him. My husband works an I am a homemaker with two kids an its taking a toll on me. I have a 6 an 7 year od who loves thi dog but I am doing all the work while they are at school or sleep an my husbands works. An he chews everything he has chewed my carpet an I ma just getting frustrated with this dog.
