I am starting to look into this. I know a lot about their character ect. but do not know about price. I want a fully trained dog. I know the pros/cons of breerders but my main interest is that he/she is trained and I will continue working with him.

i personally do not reccomend this but you can pay up to 20,000 bucks. there are alot of options, though i know you can buy guard dogs already trained for about 8 grand, it just depends on how much you want to spend…
you must check the history of the dog and parenst out.even better if parenst are on premises,,see how their temperment is, especially if you have kids.. there are to many back yard breeders that will try to rip you off. also ask for refrences
if they have none of the above go elsewhere
Trained GSDs from the breeder/trainer my family works with START at about $7000 and go up from there.
here is this site but its mainly about guard dogs for sale but they have some that are just obedienced trained and there as young as 8 months
DONT BUY, WHILE SHELTER DOGS DIE!! I have 3 German shepherds and got them all from shelter, one of them came from a breeder paid $500 dollars for him and then looked for a place to have him trained so I know exctly what kind of training he will be exposed to, also so I can be involved, A trained GS will cost 3k and above. I would really recomend you adopting one and then see what he needs help with and then take him to a training facility, there are many where you can just drop him off for 3 weeks, a month, 3 or 6.
Call your local pet shelter, I know in my area they send 10-12 dogs at a time to the women’s prison to train the dogs to become “BLUE RIBBON”dogs. They are potty-trained, among other really great tricks. And the best thing is you only pay for the adoption and the spay/neutering that you would have to pay anyway. It is a win-win situation. The dogs have a much better chance of getting a great home and the women at the prison gain a skill to use when the get out of prison.
Obedience only, about $7500….with protection $15,000 and up…and up…and up.
