because they identify the smell of them with you and they are showing that they are one of your pack and you are the leader

Well if they weren’t dirty before ,they certainly are now .

Dogs like smelly things. Its the same as when we fart in the bath and like the scent. Sad but true.

        becasue they love your smell

To the dog it smells good.
That’s if you notice when you give your dog a bath and dry him he will start rolling and rubbing on things because he’s wet and to him the shampoo stinks.

They do that because to them they can make a scented bedding to rest. It is also because they are worn out so it makes soft and puffy

This is an instinctual action. They roll in stinky stuff to disguise their natural smell. In the wild this helped them to disguise their smell when out hunting.

The dog likes the smell and wants to smell the same so he roll on them. It is like a farm dog rolling in the cow patties.

LOL. Oh, my, I didn’t mean to say your boyfriend smells like ____. It’s just something dogs and cats do.

he wants to smell like you or your bf, and your most potent scent is your sweat…awwwww…..

Worn, sweaty clothes are full of scents that are very clear and pleasing to dogs. The dog can recognize the smell of people he knows and likes. His rolling on the laundry may seem weird, but look at it as a way that he shows his affection. He’s enjoying the smells of his people. (A few cats do something similar. One of mine will occasionally get something out of the laundry and drag it around the house like a kid with a security blanket…)

        a few reasons,
        1. It’s much more fun/comfortable to roll on than tiles
        2. It smells strongly like someone the dog really likes. Similar to you feeling happy when you recognise a smell you like (maybe popcorn, coffee etc) they just want to surround themselves in it.
        3. So that the dog smells more like the family (pack)

they prefer to roll in rotten meat ,if they cant find that they will look for the best next thing
maybe your washing is very dirty

They feel secure being with your scent. Plus they want their scent on you so other animals will know that you are taken by them.

they love our scent. Our scent is on the shirts we wore so they love to smell it.

Wish my dog would stop sleeping in our piles of laundry. Every wash day when I sort the piles on the laundry room floor, he just HAS to make a nest out of them, plop down, and fall fast asleep. Can’t budge him for nothing.

Its not the dirty clothes it your sent on the dirty cloths. Its your dogs way of both getting his scent on your clothes and getting your scent on him.
